Connecting our worldwide suppliers with our multiple production facilities to meet our domestic and international customer needs requires up to date logistic systems and people expertise. We incorporate the most appropriate mix of air, ground, and sea for both inbound and outbound shipping. And we offer our customers an exclusive secure web portal to access delivery, inventory, and material certification 24 hours a day.
At our Montevideo headquarters, we use the local airport two minutes from our plant and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport two hours from us. For ground delivery, we use our own truck and daily UPS and Federal Express with one-day service anywhere in North America as well as Europe and Asia.
One reason for our investment in Chandler Far East production facilities is to enhance our ability to deliver on-time to customer’s Asian plants. We offer one-day service in Asia from our China facilities utilizing the most appropriate delivery method. And in 2009 we expanded our logistical capabilities with a warehouse in Germany to better serve our customer’s European locations. We also now offer one-day service from Germany to other European locations.
Some customers have "drop ship" systems with us for raw materials. To reduce lead time and inventories, we use Lean Manufacturing in our Logistics System.
