History
Montevideo, Minnesota has been the home of Chandler since 1961. The company has been located at its current site since 1969. C. William Johnson purchased the company from the founder in 1986 and still runs it today along with an experienced management team. Over 45 employees have utilized company stock options to acquire ownership positions in the company during Johnson's tenure.
Steady, profitable growth over the last 20 years has contributed to an excellent credit reputation. The company has had three recent expansions of the Montevideo facility to over 50,000 sq ft, and added a Twin Cities production branch. To support this progress, significant capital investments have consistently been made in equipment, technology, computer systems, engineering, and management growth. The company now has over 80 CNC machines installed and operating with over 120 full time employees in the U.S.
In 2007 Chandler International Division was established with an initial production facility in Changzhou China followed in 2008 by a Customer Service center in Shanghai. The manufacturing facility is over 20,000 sq. ft. with more than 25 installed machines and over 45 employees. The Shanghai service center operates with specialists in customer communication, engineering support, quality control and materials /supplier sourcing. In 2009, geographical expansion of the Chandler International Division moved to Europe with the opening of a sales, quality engineering and customer service office as well as a distribution facility in Marienheide, Germany.
Our current customer base includes over 30 Fortune 1,000 companies, many who have been Chandler customers for decades. We are on a number of U.S. customer worldwide preferred/approved supplier lists. This demands that we regularly ship finished goods to customer worldwide locations from Minnesota, our China facility and our offshore partners in China and Taiwan. We expect our industry focus strategy to lead us in into business partnerships in expanded worldwide locations.
