Process assurance engineering
Chandler Industries offers full engineering support for your new product designs or your general part transfers. All new customer programs from a new part to a simple revision remain under strict engineering control…from initial customer approval to final production sign-offs.
Aside from the principles of lean manufacturing, Chandler uses an extensive system of checks and balances to get it done right the first time. Our Process Assurance Engineers are a key part of this system. Each engineering program begins with an engineering team that always includes a Process Assurance Engineer as a key member. This trained specialist will contact the customer for initial print reviews; discuss geometric tolerances; and determine the inspection methods to be used by both parties prior to initial production. Additionally our Process Assurance Engineer is responsible for the following activities in the new part process:
• Reviews fixture designs
• Develops and implements inspection procedures to include inspection
- equipment and methods
• Designs and programs the SPC charts for initial sampling
•
Programs the coordinate measuring machines where required
• Completes the first article inspections for customer approvals
•
Conducts a complete capability analysis once initial part production begins.
The Process Assurance Engineer must then sign off on five different check-off items prior to the part being approved for release to general production and the development of sub assemblies, if necessary.
Having the knowledge and experience allows us to do it right the first time and maintain timely communication with the customer. That is what Chandler Industries is all about-adding value with process assurance.
